Credit Report & Repairs A Special Guide to Help

Your credit history is essential when it comes to borrowing money for any purpose. If you have a bad credit history then you will struggle to find lenders who will offer you reasonable rates, if they will offer you credit in the first place and it can be just as difficult to get the credit you require if you have no credit rating at all. For these reasons you should view your credit report & repair it wherever possible.

Getting your credit report is fairly easy and costs very little money, but it is advised that you look at your own credit history simply to try and determine if there is anything you can do to repair it. Obviously if you have a good credit rating then you won’t need to take any further action to improve it, but you should be sure that it stays that way.

Your credit report is available online and it contains details compiled from the three major credit bureaus in the country. Every time you use any credit of any sort it is reported to one of these bureaus and it is recorded on your credit history. Each positive record will increase your credit score while each negative item will decrease it. This credit score is what underwriting departments use when evaluating your credit application.

If you find that your credit history does need repairing then you will need to do something about it. This can take time and you will need to be careful. The first thing, a step that may sound odd, is to get some credit. Use a secured credit card or a secured loan because you can get either of these with a bad credit rating.

If you use a secured credit card then you will need to actually make purchases or cash withdrawals with it. Ensure that you make every single payment on or before time and each time you do you will increase your credit score marginally. Be prepared for it to take at least 6 months before you really start to get your credit score back on track.
